Belize Snorkeling Sites & FAQ

Belize Snorkeling Tours – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which snorkeling tours do you offer?
A: We offer a variety of exciting snorkeling experiences:

Q: Do your tours depart from Ambergris Caye?
A: Yes! All snorkeling trips depart from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, and travel via speedboat directly to the reef sites.  Upon booking, you will be given instructions as to which dock to meet at and what time.

Q: What’s included and what should I bring?
A: Your tour includes guided snorkeling, gear (mask, snorkel, fins), bottled water, light snacks or lunch (depending on the tour), and park fees.
A: Bring sunscreen, a towel, an optional rash guard, and a waterproof camera or GoPro if you'd like underwater photos!

Q: What can I expect to see?
A: Expect stunning coral formations and marine life like tropical fish, parrotfish, lobsters, sea turtles, nurse sharks, and stingrays, especially at Shark Ray Alley.

Q: Are these tours suitable for beginners or kids?
A: Absolutely! The reef areas are generally calm and shallow (3–15 ft), making them perfect for beginners and families. Life vests are available for extra safety.

Q: Half-day vs. full-day—what’s best for me?
A: Half‑day tours are ideal for a quick reef experience and great if you're short on time, usually 2.5 hours. Full‑day tours offer deeper exploration and multiple snorkel stops for a more immersive adventure, usually 4-6 hours.

Q: Are tour guides licensed?
A: Yes. All tours are led by experienced, licensed guides who are trained in reef safety and marine education.

Q: When is the best time to snorkel?
A: The best time is from November to May, when the weather is driest and the water is clearest.

Q: Can I snorkel with whale sharks?
A: Whale shark tours are typically offered in southern Belize (like Placencia) during the season from March to May. Our Ambergris Caye tours focus on reef life. Please inquire, and we may be able to help you book a tour with a Placencia provider.

Q: Will I see Manatees?
A: We can not guarantee you will see Manatees, but your best chance is to book our Coral Garden / Caye Caulker snorkeling trip

Q: How do I book a tour?
