Q: How deep can I dive as a certified recreational diver? 
  A: Recreational divers are trained to dive to a maximum depth of 130 feet (40 meters).      However, most recreational dives are shallower, typically between 30-100 feet (9-30 meters)

Q: Do I need to know how to swim or scuba dive?
  A: Yes, basic swimming skills are required for scuba diving. You should be comfortable in the water and able to swim at least 200 yards (183 meters) and tread water or float for 10 minutes

Q: What should I bring with me for diving?
A: You should bring your scuba certification card, dive logbook, swimsuit, rash guard shirt, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Your dive equipment: mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, and dive computer.

Q: Can anyone go scuba diving?
 A: While scuba diving is a popular activity, not everyone can participate. Individuals with certain medical conditions may need clearance from a physician before diving.

Q: When is the best time of year to go diving in Belize?
A: The best time for scuba diving in Belize is from November to April, during the dry season, when the water is clearest and the weather is most stable.

Q: Can I do Night Dives in Belize?
A: Yes, many dive operators in Belize offer night dives, which allow you to experience the underwater world in a whole new way

Q: How long does a typical scuba diving certification course take?
A: A basic scuba diving certification course, such as the PADI Open Water Diver course, usually takes about 3-4 days to complete.

Q: What equipment do I need to go scuba diving?
A: 
Basic scuba diving equipment includes a mask, snorkel, fins, exposure suit (wetsuit or drysuit), regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD), and a dive computer.

Q: Can I rent scuba equipment?
A: Yes, most of the dive shops we use offer rental equipment, but it’s recommended to bring your own if possible.

Q: Are there diving restrictions in Belize?

A: Water temperatures in Belize generally range from 75°F to 84°F (24°C to 29°C) throughout the year, making it comfortable for diving in a wetsuit or rash guard

Q: How long can I stay underwater while scuba diving?
A:  The length of time you can stay underwater depends on factors such as your air consumption rate and the depth of your dive. Most recreational dives last between 30 minutes to an hour

A: If you feel unwell while diving, it’s important to signal your dive buddy, ascend slowly, and seek medical attention if necessary.

Q:  What if I wear glasses or contacts?
A: There are corrective lenses available for dive masks that can accommodate those who wear glasses or contact lenses. Please check with the nearest dive shop near you before you arrive here in Belize.  You can also order online.

A: Most certification agencies require divers to be at least 10-12 years old to enroll in a scuba diving course. However, age restrictions may vary depending on the course and agency
